Monterey Bay Aquarium - Particularly good site both for lovers of marine life and also for kids. Very good photographic exhibitions and interactive pages.
Palau "Twilight Zone" Expedition - The Palau Twilight Zone expedition is an exceptionally well documented site detailing a project which explores and studies areas of reef well below normal scuba limits. The team used rebreathers to reach depths of up to 500 feet. Full logs, pictures and diagrams.
Smithsonian Ocean Planet Exhibition
Jason Project - Dr. Ballard and a team of associates dedicated themselves to developing ways that would enable teachers and students around the world to take part in global explorations using advanced interactive telecommunications. This is the website complete with interactive sessions and telecasts.
Sea Grant - promotes the wise stewardship of our marine resources through research, education, outreach and technology transfer. Sea Grant is a partnership between universities in the United States and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration which was established by Congress in 1966. There are 29 Sea Grant College programs conducting marine research and the sustainable development of marine resources.
Seaweb - SeaWeb is a multimedia public education project designed to raise awareness of the world ocean and the life within it. We aim to provide information and opinion from a broad spectrum of sources to help us all become more connected and involved in the life of the sea.

The Big Blue site - has some excellent photographs and video clips of underwater life in the Monterey Bay area of California. Some of the shots are taken at quite deep depth and so show creatures not often pictured.
