OTHER BSAC TROPHIES AND AWARDS


The Colin McLeod Award:
A medallion and certificate to be held in perpetuity, presented annually by the BSAC to a person or persons who, in the opinion of the Trustees of the BSA Jubilee Trust, have made a significant contribution to furthering international co-operation and harmony in diving and associated activities
The BSAC Jubilee Trust makes recommendations to the Council of the BSAC as to who should receive this award.

The Jacques Cousteau Award:
A trophy held for one year only, and a prize of diving equipment in perpetuity, awarded annually by Aqualung (UK) Ltd. and the BSAC NDC, to the BSAC member judged to have done most to further the aims and objects of the Club. The National Diving Officer decides who should receive this award.

The Wilkinson Sword Trophy:
An engraved sword mounted on a wooden stand, awarded annually by the NDC to the candidate who is judged to have had the most meritorious performance in a BSAC National Instructor or First Class Diver examination. The National Diving Officer and ITS Chief Examiners decide who should receive this award
 
The Analox Award:
A trophy awarded annually by the NDC to the candidate who is judged to have had the most meritorious performance in a BSAC Advanced Instructor examination. The National Diving Officer and ITS Chief Examiners decide who should receive this award.
 
The Collins and Chambers Award:
A trophy awarded annually by the NDC to the candidate who is judged to have had the most meritorious performance in a BSAC Open Water Instructor examination. The National Diving Officer and ITS Chief Examiners decide who should receive this award. .

The Alan Broadhurst Award:
A certificate that recognises lifesaving endeavour using good diving technique. Where extreme bravery was displayed by the rescuer, a medallion is also presented, to be held in perpetuity. The BSAC Incidents Advisor reviews BSAC Incident / Accident Reports and nominates suitable candidates to the National Diving Committee, who then decide who should receive this award. Several of these awards may be made each year.

The BSAC Safety Award:
A certificate presented for endeavouring to save life where actual diving techniques were not used, and applicable to incidents both on land or at sea. The BSAC Incidents Advisor reviews BSAC Incident / Accident Reports and nominates suitable candidates to the National Diving Committee, who then decide who should receive this award. Several of these awards may be made each year.
When submitting reports of diving accidents and incidents, Branches are invited to ask the BSAC Incidents Advisor to consider members for an Alan Broadhurst Award if the rescue involved diving and application of diving skills; or a Safety Award if a member has used life saving skills learned during diver training in non-diving situations.

Peter Small Trophy:
An engraved trophy awarded annually to the Branch considered to have conducted the most worthwhile and ambitious underwater project of the year. Leaders may nominate their project for this award. The National Diving Officer and National Diving Committee decide who should receive this award.

BSAC Expeditions Trophy:
The trophy is awarded to the organiser of the expedition that promotes the true spirit of adventurous diving and discovery of new and interesting diving locations.
The trophy, an aneroid barometer, is held for one year. Leaders may nominate their expedition for this award. The National Diving Officer and National Diving Committee decide who should receive this award.
