Chief Executive
MARY ELIZABETH TETLEY
My role as the Chief Executive is to ensure that BSAC HQ offers an excellent service to all BSAC Members. This will involve constantly reviewing the way we do everything here at HQ always thinking about the requirements and needs of the membership. Within this role the Chief Executive is also expected to implement any policy decisions taken by Council and ensure that these are carried out smoothly at HQ by the teams. Finance

BSAC Head of Finance/ Deputy Chief Executive
WENDY DAVIES

My role as BSAC Head of Finance is to ensure that the Club operates within its targeted budget, whilst also identifying any areas of cost savings that can be made. To prepare monthly financial information that monitors the Club's performance and maintain accurate cashflow statements that highlight any areas of concern.
My role as Deputy to the Chief Executive is varied and covers all aspects of operational control that are required.

KAREN CHELLIGAccounts Manager

I started at BSAC HQ in 1992. At present I oversee operations in the Accounts office and am responsible for ensuring that our books are properly balanced and correct accounting records kept for both BSAC and BSAC International. On a daily basis I work mainly with the cashbooks, bank accounts and cashflow for both companies to ensure the correct financial status is maintained. In addition, I deal with credit control, VAT, royalties and general accounts' administration and prepare the month end accounts and reports. Also stand in for Wendy when required to finalise the monthly management accounts and produce the management reports.

JANE SMITH-HUGHES Accounts Assistant
JANE SMITH-HUGHES

I started working for the Accounts Department in June 2000 and work part time from 9:00am to 2:00pm. My main task is to analyse and reconcile all income on a daily basis and input it onto the accounting system. I do a lot of general office duties, such as putting through credit card charges, preparing the daily banking books and filing. I also cover for the receptionist from time to time. At month end I reconcile the income posted to the sales ledger.

JUNE O'CONNELL Accounts Assistant

The main part of my job is the daily upkeep of the purchase ledger. This involves the checking, analysis and payment of all trade invoices and volunteer expense claims, along with answering customer telephone queries. In addition to this, I check the Income and Expenditure summaries for all Coaching Scheme courses. I am responsible for the ordering and taking delivery of stationary. I also assist in the preparation of daily income and do the daily bank run.

Membership

 Marketing & Membership Manager Alison Dando

As Marketing & Membership Manager,  I am responsible for the day-to-day management of the membership services team as well as developing and promoting initiatives to maintain and grow our current membership base.
In addition, I'm responsible for organising events throughout the year, including BSAC's presence at the London International Dive Show and the Birmingham Dive Show. I also provide support to the Operations Manager in her day to day activities, focusing on the needs and requirements of our members to ensure we deliver the best possible service to all the BSAC membership.

My main role is to process the membership renewals that have been sent in from our branches, as well as answer any queries that have come in via email, telephone or post. I also deal with the sending out of letters and questionnaires to our lapsed bsac members as well as dealing with our BSAC Life Members.

Diver Resources

As the Diver Resources Team (DRT) Manager, my role is to manage the team of four, who deal with the diver services that we offer our membership, branches, centres and corporate members.  In addition, I lead projects that improve and maintain these existing services as well as any new developments that are identified. I respond to technical and general enquiries from members either by phone or e-mail and liaise with government bodies, such as the HSE, MCA, Receiver of Wreck, RYA and other diver training agencies, on aspects that concern the governing body.

I was appointed Coaching Co-ordinator, in January 2006, looking after the coaching aspects in the BSAC. Also I am working as part of the team addressing issues that are raised with the Diver Resources Team.
I have been BSAC National Instructor since1997 and have been an active ITS instructor for many years, having started diving back in 1981. Currently the group leader for the NDC Steering group - Instructor Training Group.

My main role role in the Diver Resources Team is developing and supporting the centres offering BSAC training commercially, both in the UK and overseas. The number of BSAC training centres has expanded rapidly since rebranding in 2005 and with the creation of new categories.
I also offer technical advice on all aspects of BSAC training and branch management.I am an active diver and instructor - also Area Coach for Shropshire and a member of the West Midlands Coaching Team since 1997.

I joined BSAC during 1998.
My role involves managing all aspects of Incident reporting, monitoring and related matters including Insurance issues arising from incidents and advising on all aspects of diving safety. The development part of my role is currently orientated towards the redesign and further development of the Members Website as well as supporting the work of the NDC.

PHIL HUGHES Retail Manager.

I joined BSAC back in January 1991.
My role as Retail Manager is to manage a team of five and ensure that BSAC Shop provides an excellent customer service to all our members. I am also responsible for purchase ordering and constantly look for ways to both increase sales through the BSAC Shop and lower costs of products and postal services where possible. My main role is the preparing the mail shop orders for despatch to UK and overseas. I also send out the companies post each day.
I go to the warehouse and re-stock the shelves three times a week. I am responsible for computer stock control and other duties when needed. I have recently been involved in sourcing new products for the Shop and I also advertise the BSAC by driving the company van.

I am the the Receptionist for the BSAC. My main role is ensuring the smooth and efficient running of both the main switchboard and also reception area. This involves promptly answering internal and external calls, transferring them swiftly throughout H.Q., taking messages when necessary and also welcoming visitors I am responsible on a daily basis for the receiving, opening and distribution of mail and other deliveries. My other duties include the processing of all BSAC qualification cards, sending out promotional materials and careers information.

IT Support

CHRIS HORAN IT Manager
CHRIS HORAN

I joined BSAC in March 1992 originally as a temporary worker. My first role was to help with large mail outs and to assist the Mailshop with the orders. In August 1992, I was taken on permanently to distribute new members manuals and make up Skill Development packs, as well as dealing with customers over the telephone.
By 1996, I started taking an interest in computers and was by the then, invoicing the orders. With the BSAC making more use of their computer system and network, I got more and more curious and developed a small understanding of the computers and how simple tasks worked. By 1998, I was asked to take on the part time role of IT Support alongside my Mailshop duties, to which I had no hesitation.
My main duties today are:
Project Managing Project Neptune
Maintaining the Computer Network and PCs
Keeping the e-mail system up to date
Liaising with the Webmaster with BSAC Website issues
General Troubleshooting
Maintaining the databases used at BSAC HQ
I am also an active member of the BSAC IT Council Working Group.
