Only those registered with BSAC HQ as Extended Range Diver Instructors may teach on the BSAC Extended Range Diving Course
Reqirements for approval

Be qualified as a BSAC Open Water Instructor and Nitrox Instructor (or acceptable alternative)

Have attend a BSAC Extended Range Diving Course as a student (or acceptable alternative)

Serve actively and effectively as an Assistant Instructor on a BSAC Extended Range Diving Course where the lead instructor is a designated ERD Instructor Trainer. Alternatively, if an ERD Instructor with another agency, attend a BSAC Technical Instructor Workshop and obtain the endorsement of the Technical Instructor Trainer – apply to HQ for details of Technical Instructor Workshops

The requirement to waiver attendance on a BSAC Technical Workshop to achieve BSAC ERD Instructor status is subject to a review of current qualifications and experience by the BSAC Technical Chief Examiner – apply to HQ for details.

Pay the Registration Fee of £20 (This covers the cost of your ERD Instructor photo card, Instructor Notes, Visual Aids and teaching slates)
Applicants need to use the ERD Approved Instructor Application Form and submit the following:

Photocopy of your BSAC Extended Range Diving certificate from your qualification record book, or equivalent E.R.D. qualification from another training agency, e.g. IANTD Technical Nitrox; TDI Extended Range Diver.

Photocopy of your BSAC Open Water Instructor certificate from your qualification record book.

Photocopy of your BSAC Nitrox Instructor certificate from your qualification record book.

Payment of £20 (cheques made payable to BSAC)
