Q. Can I order Qualification Books on their own?
A. No, unless you have lost, ruined or had your Qualification Book stolen.

Q. Why can't I order Qualification Books on their own?
A. Because they come as part of specific Training Packs that all members must purchase in order to commence BSAC diver training.

Q. How much is a replacement Qualification book?
A. A replacement Qualification book for the post October 2002 training costs ?10.00 and a replacement blue Qualification book for the pre October 2002 training costs ?2.50.

Q. Has BSAC produced overlay pages for the new diver-training syllabus that can be stuck into the old blue qualification book QRB.
A. No, if you have completed any old pre October 2002 BSAC diver training syllabus and wish to gain the next available diver grade on the new diver training syllabus you will need to purchase the relevant training pack. Included in the new QRB with this pack will be a plastic pocket in which to keep your old blue qualification book. A list of all available training packs can be found here or contact BSAC HQ for a hard copy please note that training packs can only be ordered by branch officers.

Q. Why can't I order Training Packs on the Web-site?
A. Training packs can be ordered on the Web-site, however there is a certain procedure for ordering Training packs. Only The Branch DO or Membership Secretary may order and authorise the issue of Training packs to New members, unless the member has a Training pack voucher signed by the DO or Membership Secretary and then the member may purchase the pack himself. Training pack vouchers are available from BSAC HQ. Branch Officer's can order training packs online here

Q. Why does a Branch Officer have to authorise the issue of Training Packs?
A. This is the only way we can maintain control of the issue of Qualification materials.

Q. Why do I have to buy a training pack?
A. It is a requirement in the BSAC rules, so BSAC have to ensure that each member learning to dive has his own copy of the diver training material to refer to, and this is stipulated in our insurance policy.

Q. Is the Training Pack included in your Membership fee?
A. No the Training pack must be purchased and paid for separately from the BSAC Mailshop.

Q. What do I need for a diver who is crossing over from another organisation?
A. There are specific Training packs available from BSAC HQ for any diver crossing over from another organisation and wishing to further his or her diver training with BSAC.

Q. What if the diver crossing over from another organisation does not wish to further their training with BSAC?
A. If the diver crossing over from another organisation does not want to further his diver training with BSAC, he does not need to purchase a training pack, and as long as he has joined as a member of BSAC and provided documentary evidence of his qualification can partake in open water dives appropriate to that level.

Q. Can I order a Qualification book on it's own for a diver crossing over from another organisation?
A. No you would have to purchase a specific training pack available from BSAC HQ.

Q. Can I order some Membership stationery?
A. Yes you need to contact the Membership Department on 0151 350 6201, 6257 or 6203 or order it on line.

Q. Why is Advanced Sport diving still out of stock?
A. Advanced Sport Diving will not be re-printed, due to major changes in Scuba Diving in the last 10 Years a new technical publication is being looked at to incorporate these changes, we will advertise through DIVE magazine and our web-site nearer the publishing date.

Q. Can you look up my address details if I give you my Instructor number?
A. No, we can only look up your address details from your membership no. Please have this to hand when contacting HQ.

Q. How do I obtain a replacement Qualification Book when I have lost ruined, or had mine stolen?
A. The member should first apply to their Branch for a replacement. The Branch DO or Membership Secretary should apply to the BSAC Mailshop for a new QRB, explaining the loss and giving the name and membership number of the member who requires the replacement. The BSAC Mailshop will enter the name and membership number on page 1 before despatching the QRB to the Branch. Any costs are to be met by the member.
