Resource Centres
This section includes a range of resources for BSAC Instructors to assist them in the presentation of BSAC Courses.
- The General Instructor Guidance and FAQs Section includes General update information relevant to Instructors within the BSAC. FAQs on relevant matters including HSE and recreational diving.
This section also includes Latest updated Guidelines for Resuscitation teaching incorporating the 2005 guidance from the Resuscitation Council. Basic Life Support Guidelines 2006
- The Technical Diving Resource Centre includes general advice on Rebreather and mixed gas diving for both divers and the Diving Officers and Marshals who may be responsible fort heir diving activities. Information is available on BSAC Courses and Standards required for students, instructors and intructor trainers.
- The SDC Instructor Notes and VAs Section includes the Course Materials and VA files in a standardised format complete with appropriate slide show builds. The Visual Aids are downloadable as "zipped" files of PowerPoint presentations. Instructor Notes are downloadable as a PDF file. Future Course materials will be available in the same format.
- The Dive Planning Resource Centre includes links to a wide range of resources to assist with planning for successful dives to a wide range of locations. Inlcudes sample checklists and marshalling sheets.
- The Expedition Diving Resource Centre a comprehensive section that covers all aspects relating to Expedition style Diving including information on Grants available and sample guides.
- The Skill Development Course Section a comprehensive section that covers all aspects relating to Skill Development Courses (SDCs). Information is presented that is relevant to Branches, Students, Instructors and general information
- The BSAC Training Errata Section currently contains modifications and errata to the Diver Training Programme identified since publication. Check here for changes and updates you may need to make to documents you hold.
- The 'Safety First' Programme is designed to raise and maintain awareness throughout the sport diving community about safe diving practices and the need for responsible diving. The Programme also assists BSAC Branches and Schools to provide a more formalised approach in providing 'refresher' training to qualified divers within the overall context of the BSAC Diver Training Programme.
- The Risk Assessment Section is designed to raise and maintain awareness throughout the sport diving community about Risk Assessment and the role it can play in safe, responsible diving and dive organisation. The Programme also assists BSAC Branches to provide a more formalised framework to Dive Marshalling activities.
- The First Class Diver preparation pack provides all the advice and information you need to prepare for the four componetns of the highest BSAC Diving grade.
