Azimuth - SCR Rebreather
BSAC Sanctions Use of the Azimuth Nitrox Semi-closed Rebreather in BSAC Branches.
The BSAC sanctions the use of the Azimuth Semi-Closed Rebreather (SCR) for use in BSAC branch diving with immediate effect. All existing recommended Rebreather Safe Diving Practises for SCR rebreathers also apply to the use of Azimuth SCR rebreather within BSAC branches. The Azimuth Nitrox SCR rebreather, as manufactured by San-O-Sub (Italy) and distributed currently in the UK by Northern Diver, has a maximum depth limit of 40 m with no decompression diving as recommended by the manufacturer.
Recognising that this sector of the diving industry is continuously evolving, the BSAC will continue to evaluate commercially available new rebreathers.
