If you hold a course certification that is currently unrecognised by the BSAC, please contact the Technical Chief Instructor via BSAC HQ requesting for the course to be reviewed. The documented approval process requires the course instructor and student training materials to be reviewed and mapped for equivalence.

It is recommended that all rebreather divers register their course certification with BSAC HQ. This helps to protect the rebreather diver as it evidences competency for the insurers and members. The new database system at BSAC HQ, called 'Integra', will soon be enabled to track individual technical diving and instructor qualifications. From January 1st 2007, the BSAC has ceased to issue log book certificates of recognition. Prior to January 1st 2007, registered users received a copy of BSAC 'Technical Safe Diving', which was triggered by this process. From January 1st 2007, BSAC 'Safe Diving' superseded Technical Safe Diving.

The BSAC document Recognition of Mixed Gas and Rebreather Experience Gained External to the BSAC - Advice to Diving Officers provides some useful background and guidance to BSAC Branch DOs for the smooth integration and even further development of such (rebreather) divers gaining experience outside the BSAC.
