Rebreather Try-Dives
In general, divers are always interested in new equipment and we are sure that some of your branch members may wish to participate in a "Rebreather Pool Experience". BSAC has produced a set of notes and slides to facilitate existing BSAC registered rebreather divers who are also Open Water Instructors to run these sessions. The lecture session covers:
- Understanding the benefits of rebreather diving
- Understanding the differences between Closed Circuit Rebreathers (CCR) and Semi-Closed Circuit Rebreathers (SCR)
- Managing Rebreather divers (buddy pairing and limitations)
- Considerations for Rebreather divers during boat dives
The pool session covers: - Pre-dive checks
- Mouthpiece operation
- Buoyancy control
- Gauge monitoring
- Static lung loading
- Other basic skills

The Rebreather try-dive session is designed so that it can be run during normal branch pool training times.
