Advanced Instructor

The Advanced Instructor grade is the second level of BSAC Nationally Qualified Instructor (NQI) and is the primary grade of instructor responsible for teaching within the Branch and in BSAC Centres. Advanced Instructors are able to teach all elements of the Diver Training Programme up to Advanced Diver as well as a wide range of specialist Skill Development Courses. Advanced Instructors also play a very important role in the  supervision and development of Instructors within a branch both in supervising training provided within the by Assistant Diving Instructors and helping them prepare for assessment to become Open Water Instructors. Advanced Instructor is the entry requirment for further progression to become an Instructor Trainer.

There is a two day Course and two seperate Examinations associated with achieving the AI grade and the overall structure is represented below. These course and exams serve to provide a sound foundation not only for effective teaching in the branch but also for continued development of all Instructor levels.
