Regional Coach Laurent Brothier
If it were not for the fact that the organization where I worked, here in the Netherlands, had its own BSAC Special Branch, I would most probably not be here now. Fortunately this was the case and following a trial dive back in 1992 I got very quickly bitten by the diving bug. With a lot of good support and opportunities I made through the first few grades and was involved very early in instructing which I also enjoy very much.
I soon got invited to help teaching SDCs for the region and I am now here as Regional Coach after having been Area Coach for West Holland for a few years. So thanks to all of you, diving buddies and instructors, for having contributed to my personal development.
The European region expands over a large area from the Baltic to the Mediterranean. With the largest number of clubs being located in Germany and the Netherlands, we also have a few branches and schools in Belgium, France, Switzerland, Portugal.
My aim is to provide, with the help of the Area Coaches, the necessary support to help Branches in their diver training and instructor development.
For those of you who would like to be involved or help with activities in the region, please do not hesitate to contact your local Area Coach or myself.
