ANDY HUNT
I learnt to dive with Loughborough University Sub Aqua Club in 1990 before joining Southampton University and then Newcastle University clubs as I moved around the country with work. I have held committee positions in all three clubs, usually Diving Officer or Training Officer. I am now a member of Tyneside 114 Branch and active on the North East region coaching team and ITS.
My diving qualifications are BSAC First Class Diver, National Instructor. I also have various other rebreather and technical qualifications. I have dived extensively throughout the UK, averaging about 100 divers per year.
For the last 10 years BSAC expeditions have formed a significant part of my diving, either as participant or as an organiser. I organised the Regional Expeditionary Diving Scheme in the North East from 2000 to 2004 during which time there were expeditions to numerous wrecks off our local coastline and further a field to remote pinnacles and extreme drift dives in the Firth of Lorn area and other places along the West coast of Scotland including the Corrywreckan whirlpool.

ANDREW ELLIOTTI began diving in 1991 whilst at RAH Halton since that first time I have strived to enjoy diving wherever I can. Presently I am a member of Bluewater Diving Club in Basingstoke, where currently I am the DO where part of my role is getting the branch out diving.
So it is to this end that my new role on the NDC and my current role within the branch have a common theme ‘Go diving’ promoting both branch and inter branch diving.

SUSANNAH CALDERAN
I work as a marine mammal scientist for the Hebridean Whale and Dolphin Trust (HWDT), running the cetacean research programme aboard our survey vessel. This takes me all over the west coast of Scotland. Living and working in the Hebrides, we feel the practical impacts of environmental change and national marine policy as part of everyday life. As divers, I believe we have an obligation to take a active role in conserving the environment on which our diving depends.
I started diving in 2000, and joined my branch, Clidive, soon after. I am a Dive Leader, and marketing officer of Clidive. Clidive’s actually in central London, and I live on the Isle of Mull on the west coast of Scotland. However, it’s such a great club that I’m still a member, still on the committee, and manage to keep diving with them, either when the RIBs come up here, or when I head south. Courtesy of Clidive, I’ve dived my way round much of the UK coastline.

JANE MADDOCKSSince my appointment to support the then NDO, Lizzie Bird, and more recently Clare Peddie, in the important role of Underwater Heritage we have continued to work actively and tirelessly to represent the views of divers with official bodies with a view to maintaining and retaining access to all aspects of our underwater heritage.
One of the key issues in the early days of my tenure was to promote the BSAC's involvement in the "Protect our Wrecks" initiative and to encourage all members to support the 'Wreck Amnesty'. Details of both these events can be found elsewhere.
This process continues and more recently we have actively taken part in a Consultation process over the wider implications of access to our underwater heritage. This process continues and BSAC will remain at the forefront in representing all divers interests.
