4.11 Dive Discipline

4.11.1 Discipline
Discipline and adherence to BSAC recommendations is also important on Branch Dives. BSAC Rule 5 (C) states that:

"To secure safety and discipline on diving expeditions the Expedition Leader may suspend for the duration of the expedition any member who fails to obey orders given by such a leader for the said purpose. All such suspensions shall be reported promptly to the Branch Committee".

The term 'Diving Expedition' is equally interpreted by BSAC as meaning a Branch Dive. Processes for disciplining members are explained under 'Procedures for Disciplining Members' (Section 3.4.9), and should be in Branch Bye-Laws.

A Dive Manager (Section 4.7.1) shall be considered the Expedition Leader for the purposes of ensuring safety and discipline when diving.
