National Instructor Exam Passes 2007

The National Instructor Exam requires students to pass a 4 day practical Examination typically conducted at the end of July/August each year in the UK.

 National Instructor Award
MAGGIE COWING, NATIONAL INSTRUCTOR CHIEF EXAMINER

National Instructors are very important to the BSAC. They are the ones who bring forward new courses and adapt to technical developments in the sport. They have to ensure the safety and the quality of all of the training offered though our extensive instructor base. In order to even enter for this examination you have to be an Advanced Instructor and First Class Diver and it is highly recommended to be actively teaching on the ITS. To then make the additional commitment to preparing for and taking the NI Exam shows commendable spirit and requires a significant amount of enthusiasm that can only be admired

To have witnessed the efforts of people taking the examination in recent years has been an inspiring and somewhat humbling experience and one I have thoroughly enjoyed and look forward to enjoying for some time yet

For 2007 the Exam moved location to Kyle of Lochalsh on the west coast of Scotland and provided some interesting challenges for the candidates and examiners alike, see the Report of the Exam, and I am very pleased to announce the award of National Instructor to the following during 2007

Simon Campbell
Sarah Gauci Carlton
Andy Procter

I congratulate them all for their hard work and commitment in gaining this award and wish them well for their future challenges diving and instructing within the BSAC
Below is a gallery of those who were able to attend DOC to receive their awards.

The perfect way to mark an achievement within the BSAC

THE CLUB 1953 - 2003
This superb book is the first of its kind - charting the development and history of the BSAC. Written by Reg Vallintine, a past Director of the BSAC, the book draws on his archives of information, anecdotes and photographs which form the basis of the book along with contributions from many names associated with the BSAC.
The book tells the story of how it all began and takes the reader through the development of the Club and the changes in diving. Read about the pioneers of our time, some even losing their lives as they tested the boundaries of the sport we love. See how the equipment has changed through the years and marvel at how people managed to dive in spite of the hardships.
BSAC branches are reserving their corresponding unique branch/book number. Instructors are also reserving their corresponding Instructor /book number and First Class Divers reserving their corresponding First Class Diver/book number. Some people are just ordering a copy dedicated to a particular member of their branch. With each of the above scenarios a special dedication sticker (displayed opposite) will be included with the book quoting either Branch Name & Number, National Instructor Name & Number, First Class Diver Name & Number or Name only.
Price : £25.95 (inc P&P)

To receive a £10 discount on this book as a National Instructor Please quote nia07 when ordering
