Totnes Heinke winners make it a double

Totnes Sub Aqua Club (TSAC) in Devon have become the first BSAC club in 15 years to win the coveted Heinke Trophy for a second time, having first won it in 1993 and now again in 2006.

Chairman Nick Booth had the following to say on hearing the good news:
"I am absolutely delighted that for the second time in its history TSAC has been awarded the Heinke Trophy. The Heinke represents the pinnacle for BSAC dive clubs around the world and its award celebrates the hard work of all the members of the winning club.

I am very proud that we have been recognised during my tenure as Chairman, however without the work of all the committee this could not have been achieved. My special thanks to Allen Murray and Mike Balmforth for making our presentation so outstanding, this was recognised by the adjudicators as contributing to our success.
Why did we win? I believe it's because we offer a full and varied dive programme, fantastic training and a good social scene, without forgetting that we are part of the community in which we live. Any club is only as good as its members and we have the best!

The award of the Heinke goes to prove that we in Totnes have the best BSAC dive club in the world and we will continue working hard to maintain this standard. One of our great strengths is that we are open to all so if you are a diver and are looking for an active club with great diving, training and social scene check out our website at www.totnes-bsac.co.uk
