Voting first for BSAC Council elections 2008

BSAC members will be able to vote online for the first time in this year’s council and officer elections.

Online voters will now be able to access the Electoral Reform Services website using their unique voting number which is printed on the ballot forms enclosed inside this month’s (April issue) DIVE magazine.

The introduction of the online voting means that is it now easier than ever for members to have their vote.

The 2008 BSAC election is one of the biggest in recent years, with 14 candidates standing for six places on the national council. Positions of Chairman and Treasurer remain unopposed, with former National Diving Officer Clare Peddie set to become the first female chairman of the club and David Wright due to take up Treasurer.

For more information and to ‘Meet the Candidates’ for this year's election please go to www.bsac.org/page/1092/meet-the-candidates.htm

The Electoral Reform Services is an independent body and will monitor and count both online and postal votes cast by BSAC members. There is a security PIN on each member’s ballot paper that is needed to log on to www.votebyinternet.com/bsac08 to vote.

Alternatively, you can send your ballot paper by post using the pre-paid envelope enclosed in your magazine.

If there are no ballot papers enclosed in your issue of DIVE please contact Sandra Crowley at sandrac@bsac.com

Deadline for voting is 3 May 2008 and all proxies need to be received 48 hours before the AGM. Results will be announced at this year’s BSAC AGM, to be hosted by East Lancashire-based Darwen SAC on 17 May 2008 at the Whitehall House & Country Club, Darwen.
