BSAC launches Branch of the Year award

BSAC has today launched a brand new initiative - the Branch of the Year Award – to support our membership recruitment and retention drive.

What is Branch of the Year?
All our branches are now being invited to take part in this exciting new project. Registered branches will then be asked to keep a record of all their diving and training activities throughout the year.

All participating branches are in with the chance of winning fantastic Scubapro gear for their club.
The aims of the Award are to encourage branch members to:
·         Attract new members
·         Retain existing members
·         Go diving
·         Attend skill development courses
·         Attend instructor training events
·         Present themselves for instructor examination
·         Continue their development in attaining their next diver/snorkelling grade

Branches need to register and then maintain a record of the key activities. Submissions are then judged at the end of the period.

The period of the Award runs from 1st January - 31st October 2008.
(For 2008, Branches can backdate their activities to January)

Heinke Trophy is an award to Branches judged to have done the most to further the interests of its members and of the BSAC and a major part of Heinke is about interesting diving activity and expeditions.

The Branch of the Year Award objective is to retain members and encourage new members to join the Branch

·         Leaflets distributed at Dive Show
·         Mailshots to Branches

It is hoped that all staff, Coaching Teams and other groups actively encourage Branches to register and get the chance of winning these fantastic prizes.
