Bracknell SAC raises £810 for The Samaritans
The Bracknell Sub Aqua Club raised an amazing £810 on Saturday for the Samaritans at their annual black tie dinner dance, The Ice Divers Ball. Social Secretary, Michael Moonesinghe said, “This was a really great result and we are particularly grateful to the local dive shops, Diver Magazine and 2 excellent dive boats out of Weymouth, for their very generous support with prizes. Every year we select a charity to support through our social activities, previous charities have included the RNLI, The DDRC, The Air Ambulance and several cancer charities, amongst others.”
2008 is the club’s 40th anniversary year and a whole range of events are planned throughout the year to make this a year to remember! Culminating in a 40th Birthday party river cruise and BBQ from Runnymede on Saturday 17th May. “We would love to hear from any past members of the club who would like to join us for what promises to be a great reunion evening” added Michael.
New members are always assured of a very warm welcome, whether already qualified or not. More details at www.bracknell-scuba.org.uk
