Clubmark success for BSAC
BSAC has been awarded its Clubmark licence by Sport England, becoming the 27th Governing Body to be accredited by the scheme.
Sport England’s Clubmark has been designed to recognise the achievements of sport clubs in England in developing high quality and welcoming environments for young people.
BSAC’s accreditation announcement follows a recent Clubmark pilot, in which four BSAC branches –Mid Lancs SAC, Medway, Tameside Divers and Chillington Divers – were taken through the assessment process. They will receive their Clubmark award at the BSAC Awards Dinner on 1 December 2007 at the Hotel Russell, London.
Clare MacLeod, National Clubmark Manager “I am delighted to welcome the
BSAC to the Clubmark family. I was most impressed with the excellent standard of the files and evidence provided by the four pilot branches. They have certainly set a high standard “
The pilot branches were selected based on their regional spread, numbers of junior members and balance between snorkelling and diving. With the Clubmark licence now in place, the accreditation scheme will be rolled out to other BSAC branches.
Operations manager Mary Tetley said the Clubmark award was an important endorsement for BSAC, made possible by the hard work of everyone involved.
Clubmark is a unique example of BSAC Volunteers at their best. The whole project start to finish was managed and driven through by BSAC volunteers Martin Hammond, Mike Halligan, Michelle Haywood and Bob Healey.
Obtaining our Clubmark licence underpins BSAC’s ongoing commitment to its junior members and to providing a high quality club experience for all.
Clubmark is an excellent way of people knowing that the branches who have attained this award will support excellent, high quality standards and adhere to welfare and equity policies as well as being welcoming to young members.
