‘Dive Into History’ With The Nautical Archaeology Society
The Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS) is now half-way through a two-year initiative sponsored through the NAS and the Heritage Lottery Fund. One strand of the initiative is a rolling programme of presentations to interested clubs and societies.
During the last ‘winter season’, evening presentations were made to about forty organisations, many of whom were, of course, dive groups. We are now looking to develop a programme of presentations for the winter period 2007-8.
Nautical archaeology and heritage is a natural extension for divers interested in wreck sites – but the field is much wider, covering foreshore, inland waters and canals – and the presentations would be of interest to non-diving partners!
